This post really resonated with me, Jessica. I had a few brain tumors operated on when I was a kid — and I still manage that condition to this day — so I figure those experiences triggered the health anxiety I still have today. And I do the same thing as you: Consulting Dr. Google. Which is just a negative, useless, unproductive spiral.
Acknowledging cyberchondria for what it is (and catching ourselves when we’re getting hooked by it) is an important first step, along with the other tips you listed. (Putting in another vote for mindfulness! That’s been helping me a lot.)
