I’ve always been skeptical of psychics. For several reasons…
1.) How in the hell do they stay in business?
I regularly walk down Michigan Avenue, only to see psychics set up in PRIME downtown Chicago real estate. Like, located above high-end sushi restaurants and around the corner from Louis Vuitton and Apple stores.
This has always baffled me. Could they really be pulling in that much money? And… like… how? There are startups eking out the cost of a coworking space, and yet here are these small operations claiming to know the future at $30 per reading, posted up in some fancy-ass spot. #DoesNotCompute
(I wish I had a friend in commercial real estate I could ask about this.)
Secondly…
2.) They seem… worthy of skepticism.
I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this one. There’s the classic “Well, if you were really a psychic, couldn’t you just predict the lottery numbers and get rich?”
(Whoa… on second thought… maybe THAT’S how they can afford those fancy offices!)
And yet still, I’m skeptical.
