As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not exactly working right now. Which has left a lot of time for Netflix.

Specifically, The Great British Baking Show.

I know, I know, I’m very late to the party. But better late than never, right?

Now that I’ve finished plowing through all the seasons, I’ve realized there are some important lessons that carry over to career, work, and personal life.

Grab some spun sugar and fondant and buckle in.

1. Prioritize the important stuff, rather than getting caught up in too many distractions.

For example, Flora’s peach & lemon thyme & smoked almond & butterscotch cream horns in season 3 episode 8: Flora spent so much time on little extraneous nice-to-haves versus focusing on making a solid cream horn, which was the most important part of the bake.

In the words of judge Mary Berry: “I think you attempt too many things.”

Takeaway: Today, first focus on your cream horn!

2. Believe in yourself
