I’ve been practicing present-moment awareness (through meditation) and the overall concept of acceptance, and those have helped a lot. Also, as you mentioned, focusing on what I can control, and letting go of what I can’t.
It also helps to know that our brains are hard-wired, evolutionarily, to anticipate threats and danger. But today instead of “Is that a rival tribe coming to attack?” it’s “Is my job going to cut me loose?” or any number of worries. Sometimes I tell myself “that’s my cave brain trying to protect me, thanks but I got this, brain.”
We all have worries, just a matter of how much we let them use up our energy.
